David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher said: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was reached following an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
